About Lord of the Manor
Lord of the Manor is centred on the male pheasant — a bird whose striking colour makes it stand out in the rural landscape.
Created as part of the Divinity Collection, the pheasant's inherent divinity is expressed through the transformation of a rifle’s viewfinder into a halo - presenting the pheasant not as quarry, but as a subject of dignity and presence.
The painting celebrates the pheasant’s vivid plumage and unmistakable self-possession. Rich colour, and a tapestry of patterned feathers, contribute to this pheasant's sense of command, set against a background of swirling autumn leaves.
About this limited edition print
This limited edition print on paper offers a way to collect artwork with added brushwork.
Each piece begins as an archival giclée print on museum-quality fine art paper. Once printed, it is returned to my studio, where selected areas are individually hand-embellished, reintroducing surface detail and metallic elements found in the original painting.
The result is a print with physical presence and subtle variation, created in a strictly limited number.
Hand-embellishment
After printing, each piece is finished by hand using professional-grade acrylic paints.
This process introduces natural variation across the edition, ensuring that no two prints are identical. Each print is then signed, dated, and numbered, becoming a distinct work within the edition.
