The Divinity Collection
A body of work expressing reverence for the natural world and conveying the inherent divinity in all living beings.
I'm inspired by nature and spiritual iconography. I believe we have a shared responsibility to protect life on earth.
Seeing the sacred in the living world
The Divinity Collection is rooted in two formative influences: the natural world and the visual language of religious and spiritual iconography.
From an early age, I was captivated by the natural world. I felt incredibly privileged to share the planet with such a diverse and breathtaking range of wildlife.
Alongside this, I grew up surrounded by spiritual imagery: from Catholic icons in churches and schools, to sacred art from Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim and Sikh traditions in the homes and temples of friends and relatives.
I absorbed it all.

Whilst I no longer describe myself as religious, I believe we are all profoundly connected - ecologically and spiritually.
For me, divinity is not confined to deities in scripture. It is the essence of every living being.
The language of Iconography
When I began creating art to express my reverence for the natural world, I instinctively turned to the visual language of religious iconography.
Each painting portrays a fellow living creature as inherently divine, drawing on religious and mythological references from cultures around the world.
A Question of Responsibility
At the heart of the Divinity Collection is a simple but challenging question:
If all living beings are divine, are we treating them — and their habitats — with the respect they deserve?
