About Ceryn
Ceryn pays homage to the deer — a creature long associated with grace & dignity.
Created as part of the Divinity Collection, Ceryn reflects a belief in the inherent divinity of living beings, and the resilience required to exist within a rapidly changing world.
Ceryn is crowned with golden antlers against a blue background, signifying his divine status. He retains dignity and presence despite the pressures of his surroundings. Reflections of passing headlights and artificial light play across his coat, drawing attention to the fragile boundary between wild life and human encroachment.
The title Ceryn references Ceryneia, the place in Greek mythology where Artemis encountered the golden-antlered deer.
About this limited edition print
This limited edition print on paper offers a way to collect artwork with added brushwork.
Each piece begins as an archival giclée print on museum-quality fine art paper. Once printed, it is returned to my studio, where selected areas are individually hand-embellished, reintroducing surface detail and metallic elements found in the original painting.
The result is a print with physical presence and subtle variation, created in a strictly limited number.
Hand-embellishment
After printing, each piece is finished by hand using professional-grade acrylic paints.
This process introduces natural variation across the edition, ensuring that no two prints are identical. Each print is then signed, dated, and numbered, becoming a distinct work within the edition.
