About Mayura
Mayura pays homage to the regal grace and presence of the male peacock.
The painting draws attention to the way light moves across the peacock’s feathers, creating its distinctive shimmer. This play of light is echoed in the geometric forms inspired by stained glass, linking natural beauty with the visual language of the sacred.
Created as part of the Divinity Collection, Mayura reflects a belief in the inherent divinity within all living beings, and the dignity with which they deserve to be seen.
Peacocks hold deep symbolic significance in Indian and Sri Lankan culture, where they are associated with grace, protection, and spiritual awareness.
“Mayura” is the Sanskrit word for peacock.
About this limited edition canvas print
This limited edition canvas print is produced on museum-quality canvas using archival giclée printing.
After printing, each canvas is returned to my studio, where I hand-apply metallic details drawn from the original painting. This process introduces subtle variation, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly the same.
Stretched and ready to hang, the canvas format gives the work a strong presence in a space while remaining part of a limited edition.
Hand-embellishment
After printing, each canvas is finished by hand using professional-grade acrylic paints.
This process introduces subtle variation across the edition, ensuring that no two pieces are identical. Each canvas is then signed, dated, and numbered, becoming a distinct work within the edition.
